First Boat Ride!

We finally took the boys out on the river for the first time.  It seemed that there was always something stopping us from getting out there.  But Sunday our friend Ben invited us out on his pontoon boat and we thought that might be the best time to take the boys to test it out.  Dale wouldn't have to worry about driving the boat and could hold onto a kid and Ben and Erica were there if we needed extra hands.  It worked out perfect.  I think they had a good time.  The hardest thing was getting used to those bulky life jackets.  They splashed in the water and played in the sand for a little bit and then we went for a boat ride.  It was a fun afternoon!

A great day!

Today was a very fun day! (Well Sunday was, there were problems with publishing my post.)  We went to Grant’s Farm and then went swimming at Grandpa and Grandma Hackmann’s pool. It was perfect weather for Grant’s Farm. The boys loved it, especially the tram ride. They would all look at the animals, but Max would get most excited and point at them and try to repeat what it was in his language! After being there a while though, I wondered if we were visitors or an exhibit! Of course it is like this almost anywhere we go. We are the Hackmann sideshow!

After coming home we decided to take the boys down to Grandpa and Grandma Hackmann’s pool for a quick swim. This is the first time besides swim lessons that they have been in a big pool. They really enjoyed relaxing in their floaties. Dale and I want one in our size!

St. Louis Tourists!

Dale and I celebrated our 3rd Anniversary last Wednesday.  We decided to do something that we wouldn't do on a normal day so we decided to be St. Louis Tourists.  We went up in the Arch, followed by dinner at Lorenzo's on the Hill and then dessert at Ted Drewe's.  It was a very fun evening.

Memorial Day Weekend.

We went camping at Mark Twain Lake over Memorial Day Weekend and we had so much fun.  We didn't go out on the lake because there were e-coli warnings, but we had a lot of fun anyway.  We hung out at the lot, the boys swam in their pool, and we took golf cart rides.  The boys loved being outside all day long.  I know they can't wait to go back.
