Levi is coming home!!!

We received the official word today that Levi gets to come home tomorrow. We are so excited! We won't know what to do not having to go to the hospital every day. We have been at that hospital every day since April 9th. I think they've earned their share of money from us! Ha-ha!

Two down, one to go!

Will is now home!!! Max had his first pediatrician appointment today and he is doing great! After the appointment I went to the hospital to feed Levi and then brought Will home. He and Max are now snuggling in the bassinet together. They look so adorable, now we just need Levi next to them. Levi should not be far behind though. He is doing great he just has to keep his temperature up for two days then he can come home. He had to go back on heat a few days ago, but it has already been turned down quite a bit. They told us that we could possibly bring Levi home as early as Tuesday. I am so happy they are doing great and it won't be too long before we are all together!

A surprising phone call.

So my pediatrician called me this morning, and guess what? Max is coming home tonight! He is taking his increased amount of food and has been doing so well that they cannot find a reason to keep him any longer (and of course insurance doesn't want to pay any longer). I am so excited! Will should get to come home in a few days and Levi will still be a while longer, but one of them getting to come home is awesome!

Update on the boys!

The boys are doing really great. Will and Max are in open cribs and had their feeding tubes removed. They are taking all of their feedings by bottle. This means they are getting really close to being able to come home. Levi's isolette is turned off (meaning no heat) but they are keeping him in the isolette so that he can conserve his calories for weight gain since they burn calories trying to maintain their temperature. He is also taking his feedings by bottle and I would guess his feeding tube will be removed in a day or two. He is not as close as Will and Max to coming home though because he is still so small. He weighs 3 lb. 6 oz. Will weighs 4 lb. 6 oz. and Max weighs 4 lb. 7 oz. They are all making great progress and we are really anxious for them to come home. We miss them so much!

My first Mother's Day!

My first Mother's Day was perfect! Dale took me to breakfast after church and then we went to see the boys. When I arrived there was a gift for me on top of each of the boys isolettes. They got me a gift certificate for a massage, a heart shaped box engraved with "Happy First Mother's Day! Love Will, Max & Levi", and finally I got a mother's ring. Lucky for me the boys birthstone is diamond!!! They are such good shoppers already! The gifts were perfect and the ring is beautiful. Of course, the best gift was what is in the isolettes. We took our time feeding and holding the boys. It was such a great day. I am very lucky to have such a great husband and three perfect little boys! One Week and big milestones!

The boys were one week old yesterday and they are doing so well. They are all off of their I.V.'s and Oxygen. Levi is now 3 lbs. and continues to gain. Will is back at his birth weight and Max is just a few ounces shy of his birth weight. Since they were taken off of their I.V's they said they may not gain for a few days and could even lose a little again. They all took bottles last night and again this morning. Of course they got too tired to finish them, but they each took a good amount which is a big step. We're hoping the "nipple fairy" comes very soon. (Nipple fairy is what the nurses in special care refer to when all of a sudden a baby takes an entire bottle.)

Last night when we arrived for the 8:00 p.m. feeding the nurse had Will on the scale. He was naked and screaming. I leaned over the back of his head and said it's ok, mommy is here. He looked up at me and stopped crying. He did the same thing to Dale. Then when Max and Levi were being weighed the same thing happened. This was a moment when I truly first felt like a mommy.

Day 4 pictures!

Here are some pictures of the boys. Will and Levi were under the billi light for jaundice yesterday, and then Max was jealous so now that Will and Levi are off he is now on! He looked like he was sunbathing under the light today. They are still doing so well. Will was having a hard time sucking and breathing last night, but he took a bottle today. Levi also took a bottle today, however Max was too tired and had to be tube fed. We went to their 11:00 a.m. feeding and then I was discharged home. I am home now and it feels so wonderful to be here. I couldn't believe how pretty everything was since everything was still brown when I was admitted to the hospital and it was very nice to see my furry children! I miss the boys terribly, but I know that they are well taken care of and we look forward to our daily visits.

They're finally here!

After uncontrollable contractions and elevated liver enzymes my C-section was scheduled April 29th.

William Dale arrived at 4:10 p.m. weighing 3 lb. 12 oz. and 16.5 inches long,

Max Leon arrived at 4:11 p.m. weighing 4 lb. 1 oz. and 17.5 inches long, and

Levi Joseph arrived at 4:12 p.m. weighing 2 lb. 13 oz. and 16 inches long.

They are all doing really well and breathing on their own. Will and Max are currently in isolettes and Levi is under the billi light for jaundice. They are eating well so hopefully they will fatten up quickly. They are very handsome and sweet little boys! We pray that they continue to do well and keep progressing!
