Christmas Branson-Silver Dollar City!

Sunday was our Silver Dollar City day.  It started off a little rough though. After a few meltdowns then Will riding Fire in the Hole and getting a t-shirt, all was finally well in our world!  We rode rides, we saw Santa, we had hot chocolate, the boys had ice cream, we watched the parade, rode more rides then finally ended with our favorite part, the big Christmas tree.  It is getting so much fun now that the boys are big enough to ride more than just the kiddie rides.  Will even rode Thunderation two times in a row, in the dark!  He was so proud of himself!

Christmas Branson-The Polar Express!

Saturday night we went on The Polar Express!  It is located in downtown Branson so we walked on Branson Landing for a while before we boarded the train.  Once we were on the train The Polar Express was read to us.  We then received hot chocolate and a cookie while carolers came to sing.  We rode to the North Pole and then rode through a Christmas light display when Santa appeared on our train.  He gave each child a Christmas Bell.  Finally the Hobo was on our car.  The kid’s reaction to all of this was priceless!  They were asking the Hobo where his ticket was and why he was on the train without a ticket!  It was so much fun watching this through the boys eyes!

Christmas Branson-Hiking!

Saturday morning started off with a hike at Lakeside Wilderness Hiking Trail.  Surprisingly the boys were excited.  Max had to carry the “hiking pack” (aka my camera bag) and they each had to find a walking stick.  We walked for a while then came to a set of stairs that said 169 down and 169 up.  This was after already doing well over 100 stairs.  We were nervous about it because when the boys are done, they are done and we didn't want them to have meltdowns and have to climb over 300 stairs on the way back.  But we decided to move forward anyway and we were so glad we did.  It was absolutely beautiful and the weather was awesome!  We saw a really big canyon that if it had rained would have had a waterfall and we saw a couple of caves, one which I could stand up in.  When we were heading back the kids were playing a game where they were acting like we were strangers so we couldn't walk the path with them.  This was an AWESOME thing because they were still in our sight in front of us, but it made them get up those stairs in records time, with NO complaints because they had to hurry so “the strangers don’t catch up”!  The hike was my favorite part of the whole trip!
