Happy 3rd Birthday Will, Max and Levi!

Happy Birthday Will, Max and Levi!  I cannot believe how fast these past 3 years have gone by.  For the boys birthday they woke up to a balloon which they were so excited about.  We then had a little present for them that they could open right away.  Levi said "Look Santa brought us presents!"  I quickly corrected him because Dale and I wanted the credit this time!  They opened their pajamas and then got dressed so Dale could get their big presents ready.  They were so excited when they opened the door to find big boy bikes outside!  They put on their helmets that Mama Weber and Papa Great got them, got on their bikes and didn't get off until we made them to eat lunch!  Max wouldn't pedal before, but when he got on his bike he picked it right up and has not been off of it since.  We finally convinced the boys to come inside for a rest, which is exactly what they needed.  In the afternoon Mama Weber, Papa Great, Grandma Hackmann, Papa Hackmann, Aunt Megan, Uncle Bill, Aunt Lauren and Uncle Ryan all came over to celebrate.  We had a great dinner, followed by tons of presents and finally cake, cake and more cake!  We of course sang to each one separately and they each chose what kind of cake they wanted.  The boys had a great birthday!

Levi

Levi is a character. He is small but mighty. He can be with a group of 20 kids, all who are older and bigger than him, but he is leading them and telling them what to do. He gets what we call his “pirate arm”. He sticks his arm out, has a strut, gets a deep voice and will boss you around. It’s pretty funny, but it can be problematic because he forgets who’s in charge at home and at school. He is the least shy of the three so people take to him easily. He is very attentive and picks up on things very quickly. He is neither a Mommy’s nor a Daddy’s boy, but will go through spells where only one or the other will do. He is timid and worries about everything. He is very tidy and can’t stand if doors are left open or things are left on the floor. He is very particular about his clothes and shoes and everything has to be just right. (It is not acceptable for his jeans to be above his boots!) He is very sweet and loving. He is so much fun and we love him to pieces!

Max

Max has many quirks. He lives in his own little world and if you dare disturb it there will be a meltdown. He can be playing and on the other side of the room, Will or Levi could grab a toy that’s his and all of a sudden there is a fight followed by a complete meltdown. He has a wild imagination and is very creative. He loves to work with his tractors and garden tools and loves it even more when he gets to go to work with daddy on the Bobcat or Blue Tractor. He gets frustrated easily when things don’t go his way and we have to constantly remind him to settle down and try again. He can usually care less as to what Levi and Will are doing, unless of course they grab on of his toys. He likes you to be proud of him which I think is why he is so clumsy. When he is riding his bike he makes sure we are looking at him, but then he will fall and scrape his knee! He is a Mommy’s boy and needs just that little extra assurance from me to make sure things will be alright. He is very polite and sincere.  He is loving and caring and we love him to pieces!

Will

For the boys birthday I decided to write a little about each one. I also asked them questions that I will (try to) ask every year just to see their answers change. (I stole this idea from a friend, thanks Katie!) Anyway, back to Will.

Will is very funny! He likes to tease and just be silly. He is very smart, but shy. If you ask him a question he most likely knows it, he is just too shy to tell you. He is also very stubborn. He won't do something unless he wants to do it, especially going potty. Will is very athletic. He loves playing sports, especially baseball. He tells us that he's going to be a baseball star when he is bigger! He is a daddy's boy and when daddy is around I can't do anything. He likes to negotiate for what he wants and test the rules. “Three more minutes then I will come inside.” “How about I will have 1 yellow Starburst and that’s it, then cereal.” If you ask him not to touch something he will go towards it, just to make sure you are paying attention. This boy is too smart for his own good. He can be very loving and sweet.  He brings us joy every day and we love him to pieces!

Easter!

Easter was so much fun this year.  We went to church and when we came home the Easter Bunny had been there.  They were so excited to get a new tractor and a baseball glove.  They then headed outside to hunt Easter eggs.  They were so funny.  If Max saw an egg and would put an arm out to block Will and Levi from getting to it before he did.  Then we all took a nap which was amazing since Dale and I never get to take a nap.  After that we went outside and played baseball all afternoon until it was time to go to Grandma and Grandpa Hackmann's to celebrate Easter with them.  We had Bar-B-Que at the Hackmann's and played washers and the golf and baseball games that Grandpa and Grandma had in the boys baskets.  It was a very nice Easter and now to start thinking about birthday's coming up at the end of the month!
