St. Louis Cardinals

We surprised the boys and took them to their first baseball game.  Dale came home from work early and got out his jersey and said look where we are going.  They didn’t quite understand, but they were super excited when we gave them a new Cardinals shirt and when we got there and saw the baseball field. They were antsy as we imagined they would be, but we made it to the 8th inning before we left.  The saw a home run and heard fireworks, which Levi loved and Will hated and cried.  (Max had to go potty so he and I missed it, but we aren’t telling him that!)  But their favorite part was when two batters had broken their bats and of course the cotton candy.  We all had a good time and I am sure this will become a favorite pass time as a family as they get older!

Deer Hunting!

Our friends Ben and Erica invited us to their farm last weekend so that Dale could go bow hunting.  Dale got his first deer with his bow on Saturday morning and the boys were very excited about it.  We hung around Saturday afternoon with Ben, Erica, Kent, Becky, Gavin and Grant.  We went 4-wheeling, took rides on the golf cart, did sparklers and roasted marshmallows.  The boys loved it there so much they didn’t want to leave.

First Day of Preschool!

Today was Will, Max and Levi's first day of 3 year-old preschool!  It was very exciting.  They have new teachers and a class with all boys!  Since they went to 2 year-old preschool this wasn't anything new so I wasn't as emotional as I was excited.  When we walked into the class Levi started hugging my leg so I was a bit worried, but the teacher showed them where to hang their bags and off they went putting their bags up and going to play with toys.  They are already pro's!  They have drive up pick up so when we went to pick them up we saw their 3 little heads peaking out the window looking for us.  They got in the car and said "We are back from school!"  Then Will said "I am back from School.  I told you I would come back."  They seemed to really like it so we are off to a good start!

Big Boy Beds!

So the time has come where we had to get the boys out of their toddler beds.  We have been putting it off for as long as we could because we knew our only option was bunk beds, but they were just getting to big for the toddler beds.  Will is on the top bunk and the only one allowed on the top bunk.  Max is way to clumsy for that to be his bed and Levi is very timid so our rule is only Will is allowed on top.  Levi chose the bottom bunk and Max got his own bed.  So far everything is going fairly well.  Fairly well in the sense that they eventually go to sleep and they are in the bed they laid down in and they stay in it all night.  I'm not sure when going to bed every night stops being like a slumber party, but 3 boys in one room is about all we can do right now!  We plan on painting their room in a few months when work isn't so busy so I was post a picture of the finished room when it is complete.

Dove Hunting!

It was opening day of Dove season so Dale and I took the boys to the barn to hunt.  They had to wear camouflage like mom and dad, had to have a hunting license in their pocket like mom and dad (I gave them our expired ones), and had to have their guns like mom and dad!  (They are toys of course!) There wasn't much flying since it was raining, but the boys shot at everything!  I see a very expensive future of buying boys hunting gear!
