More River Adventures!

We enjoyed a nice weekend on the river.  The weather was beautiful.  It was a little chilly to get in the water, but that didn't seem to phase the boys.  Good thing I brought dry clothes for them when they got out!  on Saturday we went for a boat ride with Mama Weber, Papa great, Great Uncle Alan and Lisa.  On Sunday we went to The Loading Dock for lunch with Kristen and Mike.  Both days we ended up at the sand bar playing for a while.  It was a very nice weekend!

Cabo!

We have been checking out dogs on the shelter sites for several weeks.  I saw a picture of this dog with the cutest face and decided to go meet him.  He was quite energetic, but had been in the pound for two months. Then we found out he was going to be euthanized the following day.  I saw that as a sign and rescued him.  He is about 1.5 years old and we named him Cabo.  He is a Shepherd mix.  He needs some training but  otherwise is a very loving puppy.  He has already gone on 4-wheeler rides, been on the river and runs on the Katy Trail with me.  He is turning into a great addition to our family!

Making the best of it!

Dale, Max, Levi, Josh, Tara, Hunter, Baylen and Colton still camped on the river while Will and I went home after the hospital.  Will and I went out the following morning so he could at least get to play since he didn't get to camp.  The boys all had a great time playing in the water.  They even went tubing and Hunter tried wake boarding.  Considering Will's unlucky night, it still turned out to be a good weekend.  Will, Max and Levi love playing with their cousins!

Will's visit to the ER!

\On Friday we were taking the kids camping on the river.  My brother, sister-in-law, nephews and their dog all joined us.  We packed up the boat and headed to the sand bar.  We were unloading all of our stuff while the kids and dog were playing.  It had been maybe 5 minutes since we arrived when Jade tried to play with Will.  It scared Will and he pulled away from her.  When doing this Jade's tooth tore Will's arm.  It wasn't bleeding but the way it was cut we knew it needed stitches.  We decided that I would take Will to get his stitches while everyone else stayed and then Dale would come back and pick us up when we were done.  Well it turned out to be a long night.  Because it was considered a dog bite we had to fill out animal control forms.  I had to find a way to get in touch with my brother to find out if Jade had her rabies shot.  Since she is a puppy she wasn't scheduled to get her rabies shot until her next visit.  Now the doctor said Will needed rabies shots.  So he got 5 stitches, 2 rabies shots at the wound site and one in his leg.  After this we had to wait an hour to make sure no reaction.  It was 11 p.m. before we left so needless to say Will and I didn't camp.  We were instructed that Will had to get 3 more rabies shots, one 3 days later, 7 days later and 14 days later.  The next morning Dale picked us up so Will at least got to play on the river for a while.  Animal control was waiting for my brother when he got home.  Jade had to be quarantined (house arrest) for 10 days.  On Monday morning Animal control called me and stated that Will did NOT have to get the rabies shots and we didn't have to continue with them since Jade was quarantined.  This was great news since the shots were the worst part of everything.  Will's cut was not a big deal, it was just torn just right that it needed stitching and Jade is just an energetic little puppy who was trying to play.  I think if I would have known all the drama involved with his cut being a dog bite, I would have said it was from her claw!

To add to Will's drama, the week before this happened Will was at my mom and dad's.  A decoration fell off the wall straight on to Will's big toe.  His toenail has since come off and his ankle was swollen and black and blue.  Hopefully Will's unlucky streak is over!

First Day of Pre-K!

The morning of the boys first day of school didn't start off good.  Max was throwing a fit because I wouldn't let him play Lego's before school and Levi was crying because the shirt he picked was too big.  But after we got over these obstacles the boys were old pro's at this first day of school thing.  They went right in, hung up their bags and lunch boxes and started playing without even as much of a good-bye for mom!

River Time!

The year has not been good for boating for us.  First the river was messed up, then when it finally got better our boat broke.  The boat was fixed right before we left for Florida.  So finally when we got back from Florida we have been trying to get out on the boat as much as possible.  The boys finally got to use their new tube and the river is in such great shape that we've been taking advantage of it every change we get.  Here are some random pictures from our recent river excursions!
