River Time!

The year has not been good for boating for us.  First the river was messed up, then when it finally got better our boat broke.  The boat was fixed right before we left for Florida.  So finally when we got back from Florida we have been trying to get out on the boat as much as possible.  The boys finally got to use their new tube and the river is in such great shape that we've been taking advantage of it every change we get.  Here are some random pictures from our recent river excursions!

Panama City Beach, Florida

Dale, the boys and I went to Panama City Beach, Florida from August 17-24th.  We dared this trip because we got a really good deal on a condo.  We were very nervous about a 13 hour drive with three 4 year-olds, but they actually did very well.  On our way down we broke up our trip.  We drove for nearly 7 hours before we made our first stop.  We ate dinner, then drove 2 more hours before staying at a hotel in Clanton, Alabama.  The next day we drove the remaining 4 hours to Panama City Beach.  Our condo had Lake Powell out the front and the Beach out the back.  It was beautiful!  Our week started our rainy, but we enjoyed the indoor pool until we finally made it to the beach.  The boys were a little weary at first, but then they loved it.  We brought Lego's along so the boys would have something to do while we were in the condo, but Max became more concerned about Lego's than anything else.  He said "Mom, we went to the beach yesterday so today let's stay in and play Lego's."  We didn't drive 13 hours to the ocean to sit inside and play Lego's.  This made Max crabby and short tempered so we decided to hide the Lego's.  From that point on Max enjoyed himself much much more because he wasn't concerned about Lego's waiting for him at the condo.  We got the boys boogie boards and by the last two days they were pro's on them!  They loved searching for sea shells and found a ton of them.  They even liked watching the crabs scurry along the beach.  One day we rented a pontoon boat and drove out to Shell Island.  It was beautiful.  We didn't find any shells there, but we saw a sting ray and dolphins swimming in the bay.  We had to out run a storm and saw a water spout which was cool but a bit scary.  We had a really great time and already talk about going again.

Zoo with the Weber's

My sister-in-law Tara and I took all our boys to the Zoo so they could something fun together before everyone headed back to school.  They all had a buddy that they held hands with which was nice for Tara and I.  Hunter and Will were buddies, Max and Baylen were buddies and Colton and Levi were buddies.  It was fun for all the boys to spend the day together.

Out attempt of a picture of all of them.  They are all there, but if you look closely Max is hiding behind the elephant's hoof so you only see his leg!  After about 10 attempts this was the best we could do!
