Boys Birthday Party!

We had a big party for the boys this year since they are turning 5!  We did a cowboy themed party.  All the kids got a cowboy hat, bandanna and Sheriff's badge.  We had a potato sack race, a game where you lasso the horse and a game where you knock the cans down.  We had a little town set up in the back yard, but for some reason I do not have a picture of it!  I was quite busy so I didn't get a lot of pictures that I wanted.  We had cowboy themed food which included BBQ Pork and Chicken, Cowboy Beans, Wagon Wheel Pasta Salad, Frontier Fruit, Campfire Corn on the Cob and Cowboy Caviar!  I made a cowboy themed cake and cowboy boot and hat cookies. The boys had so much fun playing with all their cousins!  They were hysterical when they were opening gifts.  On every present they would say things like "This is awesome!",  "This is the best birthday ever!"  It was so much fun and we are thankful to have such wonderful family and friends to come celebrate with us!

Easter!

Easter was so much fun this year!  The boys really enjoyed dying Easter Eggs and they even did a really good job and made a very minimal mess.  Easter morning they were so excited to see if the bunny came that when we told them to come downstairs they were running around the house and missed their baskets at first!  They were also very into hunting for eggs and found all of them in a matter of minutes.  We then went to Grandma Sue's for lunch and the boys were able to fly their kites the bunny brought them.  Finally we went to Grandpa and Grandma Hackmann's for dinner.  It was a really great Easter!

Zoo!

The boys were on Spring Break last week.  We were busy with stuff around the house all week so finally on Friday we decided to go to the Zoo.  Of course the weather wasn't as nice as predicted, but we still had a great time despite being cold.  The boys were so good and it was a really fun day!

Career Day!

Today is career day at school.  Levi and Will are cops.  This came about because Levi's current best friend Carter is going to be a cop for career day so he had to be a cop.  And since Levi is a cop Will had to be a cop.  They have to do everything the same!  Our independent thinker Max is an "Owner of the Workers"!  So he is being daddy for career day!  They were sooooo excited this morning.  I feel bad for their teacher if all the kids were as wound up as ours, but on the other hand they have never gotten ready for school as fast as they did this morning!  I am sure they are going to have a fun day at school!

Another ER visit for Will

Thursday evening I was working on giving the boys showers.  We do one in, one out.  Levi was first and once he was out Will was in.  We let them stand in the water for a bit before we wash.  I told Will it was time to wash and as he was bending down to get his loofa he slipped and fell hitting his head against the tub.  It must have hit the bone above his eye just right because he had a nice big cut.  We took him to the ER and luckily they were able to glue it.  He was not a happy camper but he was brave!  This poor child has the worst luck, especially with this particular part of the face!   Just a few weeks ago he fell on the ice and scrapped this same part of the eye.
