Blessing of the Fleet!

We took the boys to The Blessing of the Fleet on Saturday.  They got a little bored during the parade because it goes very slow, but they thought all the boats in a parade were cool and they really liked that our boat got blessed by a Priest.  After we were blessed, we met up with some friends at the sandbar and played for a while.  It was a really good day!

First Day of School!

The boys started 2nd grade today!  They had a great day and said 2nd Grade is awesome.  Levi lost a tooth at school and had to visit the nurse, but that made it an extra exciting day.  After school we went for our traditional ice cream on Main Street.  We look forward to a great 2nd grade year!

Castlewood Park

All I wanted for my birthday was to go for a hike.  So the boys, Cabo and I headed to Castlewood Park the morning of my birthday.  We unfortunately chose a trail that was not scenic, but we saw a deer running in the woods.  We also had a picnic next to the creek before we went on our hike and then played in the creek for a while after our hike.  We had a lot of fun and always love getting outdoors and exploring.  It was a great way to spend my birthday!

Random Stuff

There hasn't been too much going on in July, but here are a few random things we've done.  

Levi has been taking piano lessons for a while now and we finally got him a piano!  He is so excited!

We were at the library one day and the boys were able to make Pikachu hats.  We sent a message to daddy that we found three Pikachu's in one spot since there's a big Pokemon craze!

Aunt Regina and Uncle Bob gave us some tickets to the Cardinals game.  It was extremely hot, but we were looking forward to watching the Cards and hanging out with Bobby.  Unfortunately, we sat there for a couple of hours for a rain delay and it wasn't even raining.  The rain finally came after we gave up and went home and they cancelled the game.

The boys school had a Back to School Bash.  They had fun things to do, music and food trucks.  We can't believe that it's almost time to go back to school already!

Fishing!

We went fishing with Papa Great yesterday morning on the Mississippi River.  The boys all caught one small catfish right away, but then it was really slow.  Finally, when we were reeling our lines in to come in, there was a big one on the line.  Will and Max had to work together to bring it in.  We brought it home and Papa Great cleaned it so they could have it for dinner!

4th of July!

Fourth of July weekend was pretty dull.  It was cold and rainy all weekend.  We did manage to do a couple of fun things though.  We had donuts with our friend Kristen and her son Everett on Saturday morning.  Sunday night we went to watch fireworks.  It was cold and cloudy, but not crowded and the fireworks were actually pretty cool looking behind all the clouds.  And finally on Monday morning we rode our bikes on the Katy Trail to Main Street to watch the parade.
