Camping in Iron County

We were able to get away for a weekend for our first camping trip of the year.  We stayed at Big Creek RV Park.  We stayed here last summer for a float trip, but this time we wanted to take advantage of all the hiking and State Parks around.  We played in Big Creek for a while on Saturday morning before heading to Tom Sauk Mountain to hike.  After our hike we visited Fort Davidson in Pilot Knob.  We then went to Elephant Rocks and climbed around for a while.  On our way back to the campground we stopped at Acadia Valley Bed and Breakfast for some ice cream and were able to walk around the creepy old building, and it was creepy, but also cool.  When we made it back to the campground, the very brave Max and Will went swimming in the cold pool.  We then played in the creek for a while longer skipping rocks.  Finally, Dale and I sat by the campfire while the boys played for hours with all the other kids at the campground.  It was a very nice and relaxing trip!

Levi's Piano

Levi participated in the Virtuoso Club festival this past weekend.  He had to play two piano pieces for two judges.  The music had to be memorized and we were not allowed to watch.  I was able to hear him play through the door and he sounded great.  At his piano lesson this week he found out that he got a Superior rating at the festival, which is the highest score.  He received a ribbon and a certificate. Levi is very excited and we are very proud of him for his continued hard work playing the piano!  

We went to Starbucks and got a hot chocolate and brownie afterwards to celebrate a great job!

Easter

I don't have many pictures from Easter.  The boys have figured out that there is no Easter Bunny and think their "too cool" for all the nonsense of pictures!  But they were still very excited to received a basket from Dad and Mom which included a new hockey stick.  They will definitely take a picture with a hockey stick!  It was also a VERY cold on Easter.  We had to watch the egg hunt in our winter coats.  There were even snow flurries!

Basketball

They boys had their last basketball game on Saturday. The boys really enjoyed playing this year and had a great team.

Ice Skating

The boys hope to play hockey so have been taking Ice Skating lessons at the Rec Plex for several weeks now.  They just got their hockey helmets so they all decided to wear their Blue's jerseys to their lesson.  Their instructor was a bit confused during this lesson!

Butchering

We butchered over the weekend.  Dale was still in Colorado so the boys were super helpful.  They helped with packaging, with carrying meat, with cleaning up and with grinding.  I was so proud of how much work they did.  They also had a lot of fun learning from their uncles and cousins.  

Since Dale was still gone we had to send a picture with the beard butchering!

When's Dad's away

Daddy had his annual trip to Colorado Skiing this week.  Since he currently has a big red beard, we decided to get our own beard and send pictures to daddy with us wearing it while he was away.
