Will has been doing pretty good since he's been home from the hospital. However he still gets headaches and neck pain and we can tell he gets worn out if he does too much. We were supposed to go back to the neurosurgeon last week but they decided to hold off until the end of October because they want to do another MRI of his head and neck. Unfortunately, he has to be sedated for this and will miss more school. He will also freak out once we tell him about it. We started letting Will go to recess once a day because one day there was no one to watch him inside so he sat on the bench outside. We thought that would be okay and give him a chance to at least be with the other kids. However, sitting on the bench turned into playing tag, playing on the equipment, etc. Since we thought he would be released from restrictions this week we just let it go. However, since he still gets headaches and neck pain the doctor said he has to continue restrictions until further notice, including no recess. He can only do light activities at home when we can supervise him and he won't be released until he is completely headache free. They did give him release to travel since we are going on vacation to Mexico next week, but his physical restrictions still apply. We follow-up with his neurologist in Mid-November and hopefully we can scale back his anti-seizure medicine at that time.
I cannot believe that it's been nearly 2 months since his fall and he still has pain. We still worry about him constantly. He gets tired of us asking if he has a headache and he likes to tell us he's fine, but we know better! We know he just wants to be able to play like normal again, but it's not worth the risk. I have a feeling it may be a few more months until his restrictions are lifted but it's all worth it for him to be completely healed.

Apple Picking!
We went apple picking this past weekend at Eckert's in Grafton. We stopped and had lunch at Beasley's Fish Market before heading to Eckert's. We took a hayride to the orchard where the boys kept finding the "perfect apple". There were so many "perfect" apples that we went home with about 50 pounds of apples. (The apples turned into a few pies and about 2 1/2 dozen jars of apple butter later in the week.) Finally we headed over to Grandma Sue's for a Bar-B-Que. It was a great fall day!

A perfect Saturday!
We had such an awesome day on Saturday! We woke up and headed straight for the
river. We took our boat over to Pere
Marquette for breakfast. The kids
thought it was awesome and loved the “king chairs” in the restaurant. We then played giant Connect 4. After several matches and everyone winning a
game, we went for a hike. We took a
short trail straight up to the lookout over the Illinois River, but on the way
down we took a longer trail. The longer
trail was not overgrown like the other (no spiders crawling on us) and it had
beautiful scenery and rock formations. The boys loved it and Dale and I had so much
fun watching them be little explorers.
After our hike we headed back to our boat and went to the sand bar. The boys found a fort there the night before
and had to get back to guard it! They
played and played until we finally had to leave. On our way in Levi decided to wake
board. He popped right up and stayed up
for several minutes. He gets better
every time he does it and is so proud of himself. Finally, we went to a party for our cousin Amber. It was a great ending to a perfect day!
