Oktoberfest

Will, Max & Levi enjoyed their first Oktoberfest celebration on Friday, September 25, 2009 on the river front in St. Charles. They enjoyed the festive music! Levi especially loved the Chicken Dance. Will really enjoyed playing with his cousin Aubrey. She is 2 months older than him and he just loved watching and smiling at her. They even got their first balloons which Max couldn't take his eyes off of! We saw lots of friends and had a great time being outside and enjoying the weather and festivities.

The boys had a limo service for the Oktoberfest!!! Levi in back, Max in the middle and it was Will's turn to be in the front!

Colorado!

Dale and I recently got back from our first trip without the boys. Our friends Scott & Lindsay were just married in Breckenridge, Colorado on September 19th! It was beautiful! Scott & Lindsay had perfect weather and everyone had a great time. We arrived in Breckenridge late Thursday night and stayed until Monday morning. Besides the wedding festivities we enjoyed Oktoberfest in Breckenridge, a ski lift gondola ride in Vail, walking around and looking at the beautiful scenery, sitting in the hot tub at the hotel and sitting by the fire in our hotel room! We missed the boys terribly, but it was time much needed for Dale and I. We even woke up to snow covered mountains on Monday morning and drove through snow for almost our entire drive back to Denver airport. Then when we arrived back in St. Louis, it was 90 degrees! First Camping Trip!

The boys first camping trip went very well. They loved all the attention from the family and they loved being outside. They slept in Grandpa and Grandma Weber's camper and did very well. They rode the big boy swings (well the baby swings, but big boy for them) and sat by their first campfire. They were too little to go on the lake (at least I wasn't comfortable with it yet), but we look forward to that for next year. They are also doing great with eating solid food. In fact, they all slept through the night on Sunday! Here are a few pictures from our trip!

To promote Bikers for Babies we were put on the cover of The Biking Life magazine for their September issue. We had posed on my father-in-law's Harley. To see the cover in a larger image go to thebikinglife.com and click on the picture.

Everything has been going well with the boys on solid foods. They have tried squash and LOVE it, especially Levi. You can't get it in his mouth fast enough! And a HUGE milestone for Max last night, he slept through the night! We were very excited. Hopefully it will continue and Will and Levi will join Max very soon. Today we are getting ready to leave for the boys first camping trip. We are going to my family's property at Mark Twain Lake. We are excited to get out of the house and enjoy the nice weather.

4 month check-up!

We had the boys 4 month check-up yesterday! They are all doing great. Will weighs 11 pounds 8 ounces and is now officially the smallest! He has lost his window seat in the suburban and has to sit in the middle now. Max weighs 13 pounds 13 ounces. And Levi has surpassed Will and now weighs 11 pounds 12 ounces. They are all officially on the growth chart now with Will and Levi being in the 10th percentile for weight and the 25th for height. Max is in the 25th for weight and the 75th for height, though they think they looked at his percentage for his height wrong. We get to start solid food now starting with cereal for a few days then adding vegetables. Will does rather well and Max and Levi still need to get the hang of it. Also, Will and Levi will have to see a plastic surgeon at the end of September for a helmet consultation for their heads being flat on one side. This weekend we are taking the boys on their first camping trip as we are going to Mark Twain Lake for the holiday weekend. The rest of this week we will be busy packing.

Levi kind of got it. He opened his mouth for it, but once I put a spoonful in he stuck his hand in his mouth with it and tried to eat his hand too. As you can see he got it everywhere!

A busy week!

Last week was a busy week. The Bikers for Babies coordinator called and wanted to come take the boys picture for the cover of Biking Life Magazine to advertise the St. Louis Bikers for Babies ride. They came out on Tuesday and needless to say Max was not happy and the pictures didn't turn out. Meanwhile Max has had a cough and we had to take him to the doctor to get an antibiotic. (Max now weighs a whopping 13 lbs. 4 oz.!) Thursday came around and Bikers for Babies came out again to try to get a better picture and by then all three boys were running a low grade temperature. The pictures went well and we actually were able to pose on my father-in-law's Harley and the boys were wearing t-shirts that said my grandpa drives a Harley. (These were the first things I bought them the day I found out we were having all boys!) While the motorcycle was out we took the opportunity to get photos of grandpa and grandma Hackmann with the boys as well. Friday finally came and the boys still had temperatures. We brought all the boys to the doctor to make sure they didn't have ear infections. Thankfully they didn't and were diagnosed as having a virus. (Will weighs 10 lbs. 14 oz. and Levi weighs 10 lbs. 9 oz.)

So if our week wasn't crazy enough, we also received bad news about our dog Huck. About a month ago we discovered a growth on his tongue. We brought him to the vet where they took a biopsy of the growth. We were initially told that it was cancerous, but it was inactive and that they would consult with an oncologist as we would still have to follow-up with them to make sure it wouldn't become active. Well we had not heard anything so I decided to call just to make sure we didn't have to do anything. When the vet called back he told me that even though it was not active, it is still bad. We have to check his tongue every week to watch for the growth to come back and when it does we have to decide what to do. We would possibly have to amputate part of his tongue, he might have to get chemo and radiation or receive a series of shots. We aren't very happy with the vet for not calling us and we are confused as to exactly what is going to happen. Dale has put a call into the vet today so that we can try to get more information and find out what we can do. He acts perfectly fine so hopefully we can fight this disease. I will post more updates on him when we get them.

On Saturday my mom, the boys and I took my dad lunch at his work. The boys got to see big tractors which I think they really enjoyed!!! So besides the boys being sick and the bad news about Huck it was a pretty eventful week. Will, Max and Levi were able to get on a Harley and they saw big tractors!

Some new pictures

Here are a few pictures of the boys. Also there was a HUGE milestone for Will on July 31st! He rolled over from his tummy to his back five times that day. He has not done it since, but we know it's just a matter of time before he is rolling everywhere. The boys also met their friend Ben today. They were all so cute together. It was funny to see the difference in them. Ben is five weeks younger than Will, Max and Levi and he was a LOT bigger than them! He was so cute and it won't be long until the boys catch up to him. That's about all for now. The boys are keeping busy going to a lot of parties and they love all the attention from pretty girls!!!
