Wisconsin Dells-Cubby's Cove

We had been looking for somewhere to go for a long weekend to just get away.  We thought about Great Wolfe Lodge in KC for the water park, however it was booked.  So in my search for somewhere else with indoor water parks we discovered that the Wisconsin Dell's is water park haven and it's only a 6 hour drive!  So off to Wisconsin we went!  There are tons of indoor water parks in the area, but we chose Wilderness Resort which has 4 indoor parks.  We were not disappointed.  We arrived late Thursday night so hit our first water park, Cubby's Cove, Friday morning.  This was the smallest park that was in our building.  The kids immediately ran around having a blast.  We stayed there until about lunch time before going back to our condo for lunch and heading to our next water park!

Polar Bear Plunge!

Last Saturday I did the Polar Plunge for my second time!  Our team's theme was Rock Star's from the 70's.  This year the weather was quite different than last year.  Last year it was freezing rain while we were waiting to "plunge".  Well this year it was sunny and close to 70 degrees!  The water was freezing, but as soon as I got out I was warm again! The boys had fun watching.  As I was leaving the water I got to see Fredbird and Louie the Blue and later the boys got to get their picture with Louie!  Afterwards we all went to lunch and the boys sat at a bar and played pool!  They thought they were pretty cool!

Community Helpers!

The boys did a unit at school called Community Helpers.  Each student had to choose a Community Helper, dress up like the person they chose and do a presentation on the Community Helper they chose.  The boys were so excited.  Levi and Max both chose Construction Workers and Will chose a Police Officer.

Levi had to make blueprints for his job!

Papa Great's Birthday!

Papa The Great's birthday was yesterday so we had him and Mama Weber over for dinner.  The boys helped make Papa Great's favorite cake, German Chocolate.  It was nice to spend Papa's birthday with him!

The yummy cake!

Arch!

On Saturday we took the boys to the St. Louis Arch.  Max started freaking out when we were walking into it and said he didn't want to go.  We convinced him to go into the museum and then spent about 30 minutes trying to convince him to go to the top, but he would have no part of it!  So Levi, Will and I headed to the top while Max and daddy stayed below to wait for us.  Luckily for them there was no line and they only sat at the bottom for about half an hour.  Levi and Will really enjoyed it.  They both took pictures and kept going from side to side to look at the city then the river.  It was a really windy day so you could feel the arch swaying at the top.  I was NOT going to mention this to them in case they would start freaking out!  A break down on top of the arch was not something I wanted! However, when we got home they started talking about how the arch was shaking, so they noticed themselves!  Mommy underestimated them!  We then went to Sugarfire BBQ for a great lunch and headed home to spend the rest of the day and evening outside since it was so nice.  All in all it was a nice day.  Hopefully next time we can convince Max to go to the top of the Arch!
