Daddy's Vacation!

Daddy went to Colorado Skiing last week.  We made a short list of things to do while he was gone.  Although between school, basketball and religion we stayed quite busy.  We went out to dinner a couple of times, once being at Steak N' Shake.  This is the one place the boys insisted on going while dad was gone!  We made heart shaped pancakes for Valentine's day.  We went to see Kung Fu Panda 3.  Daddy surprised us with an Edible bouquet!   And finally, we went to a road behind the airport and watched planes land (including daddy's) while we waited to pick daddy up.  Daddy had a lot of fun, but we sure missed him!

Valentine's Day!

The boys made Ninja Turtle boxes for their Valentine's party at school this year.  They were very excited about them.  Will had to dress up handsome for his party, Levi had a pajama day and Max was just Max!  I made a craft with the kids in each of their classes for their parties.  It's always fun seeing them in school, although is was hectic running from one class to the next!

First Basketball Game!

The boys are playing Basketball at the YMCA this winter and Saturday was their first real game.  They were excited and nervous.  Considering this was their first game ever, they did ok.  They didn't quite get it at first, but as the game went on they started to understand it more.  They really enjoy it and look forward to the rest of the season.

Papa Great's 60th Birthday!

Papa the Great turned 60 on Monday.  He didn't want a party, but we had a BBQ and fish fry in Grandma Sue's shed on Saturday.  Of course when Papa Great has 12 in his family  and Mama Weber 5, it turned into a party!  I think Papa Great had an awesome birthday!

The boys worked hard making Papa fishing cupcakes!

Fishing bobber cake!  I was short on time and had to buy fondant, it was terrible and cracked and was hard to work with!  Next time, no matter what I'll just make it!

Papa Great and I always share sunrise and sunset pictures.  It was extra special to share a beautiful sunset together for his birthday!

Sledding!

We finally got a little bit of snow and a snow day from school.  The boys were anxious to get out and go sledding and snowboarding.  In the morning we played with Jacob and Riley and in the afternoon we went up to school to go down the big hill.  The boys had a blast.

Levi's rough week!

For some reason when the Hackmann boys get hurt, it is ALWAYS on their head or face.  And after Will's ordeal this mama's freaks out anytime anything happens.  On Thursday night the boys were supposed to be taking showers.  Levi was going into his room to get his pajamas and Will slammed the door.  The door hit Levi in the head and he immediately got a small goose egg.  Then on Saturday we were butchering at Grandma Sue's and the boys were all playing with their cousin Bobby.  Levi was spinning in circles with Bobby and Bobby'e elbow hit Levi's eye.  It immediately puffed up and turned purple. It was an accident of course, and poor Bobby felt bad, but this kid could not catch a break this week!  I had to e-mail his teacher because he was nervous to go to school with another black eye.  (He had a black eye last Easter from hitting heads with another cousin during an egg hunt!)
