Happy Halloween!

We have had a fun filled weekend full of Halloween fun! On Friday we went to Grandma Hackmann's work and on Main Street Trick or Treating, Saturday we carved pumpkins and Sunday we went Trick or Treating at family's houses. The boys were Scarecrow's, although after the first twenty minutes all the straw broke off their costumes and their makeup wore off so they looked like farmers. Either way, they were very cute! They loved helping us carve their pumpkins. They each had their own spoon and were digging the guts out of them. They were very good helpers. When we were Trick or Treating at Grandma's work they of course got a ton of candy and crackers. We thought great, they don't know what candy is and we can give them crackers and they would be happy. They were, until we were strolling along in the wagon with their pumpkins between their feet and they realized there were more goodies inside. First we caught Max with a Kit Kat with a bite out of it, wrapper and all. It was in such a perfect half moon shape as if his teeth had no problem penetrating the paper. Next they all seemed to dig out a Tootsie Roll and all took a bite of them, wrapper and all! Needless to say, I carried the pumpkins for the rest of the day! All in all it was a very good Halloween weekend!

What are they up to now!

Saturday night the boys decided they wanted to try on our Cowboy Boots!  It was funny!  They couldn't walk in them, but still insisted on wearing them!  They have been quite entertaining lately.  Sunday night Max had his arms in front of him like Frankenstein and was wiggling his fingers like he was going to tickle.  He chased Will and Levi around the house while doing this for a good 30 minutes!  They were all cracking up laughing.  Max also thinks it is funny to tickle your feet.  He says "tickle, tickle, tickle".  It cracks us up every time.  Will and Levi love reading.  I could read the same book to them 20 times before I put an end to it.  Their favorites right now are "The Plumply, Dumply Pumpkin", "Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See", "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" and "Elmer and The Lost Teddy".  Dale and I could probably read them all without looking at the pages!  They even like to read the books themselves.  They will sit by the book shelf just examining all the pages in a book, they don't even care if it's upside down!  Max just likes to eat the books!  Although, he is finally becoming more interested in hearing the stories.  The only problem is that they HAVE to sit on your lap when reading and it is hard to find room for all three, but that is a problem I hope I have for a long time!  Will is quite the daredevil!  He likes to go head first off the couch and now he wants to jump off the bench in front of the window.  I don't know where he gets this from.  He is so quiet and seems the most shy, but he definitely has a wild side.  Levi is so attentive!  He repeats everything you say and he speaks very clearly.  If you show him something, he focuses so hard on what you are doing then he can't wait to do it him self.  He is very independent!  The boys are so much fun right now.  Of course they are very busy and some days I've had about all I can take, but as with any mother, I wouldn't trade it for the world!

The Pumpkin Patch!

Dale, the boys and I finally made it to the Pumpkin Patch on Friday afternoon.  We had a great time.  The boys played in corn, rode pedal tractors, sat on a tractor, and saw a bunch of farm animals.  After tearing them away from all of that excitement, they finally became interested in picking a pumpkin.  The animals were Will's favorite part, especially the cow.  He kept walking up and talking to them like they were best friends.  Max wouldn't get off of the pedal tractors and bikes.  He just kept going from one to the other.  Levi loved everything.  I think he just enjoyed walking everywhere independently!  I was disappointed that I didn't get a cute posed family picture in front of the Pumpkin painting and hay bales, but they are one and a half and way too busy for a picture with mom and dad!  I was lucky I got this next picture that had all three of them in it.  And the only reason this worked was because I had a piece of Pumpkin Bread that I was sharing with them!  The great day ended with dinner at a Mexican restaurant where the boys were so well behaved we weren't sure what to do!  All in all, it was a wonderful day!

"A Nice Day for a White Wedding!"

On Saturday our cousin Mindy got married in Alton, IL.  It was a country wedding complete with hayrides and a bonfire.  It turned out to be an absolute beautiful day.  The boys really enjoyed themselves!  The groom took us on a hayride that was very eventful.  We went for a very long hay ride when the tractor decided to act up.  (I am not a tractor mechanic, but I think they were saying that something with the idle was broken.)  So we were putting along at a near 1 MPH until rescue finally came.  Our boys were really the only ones getting antsy.  They were very very tired because with all the excitement there was no time for a nap!  Next time we anticipate joining in on a hay ride we better make sure a reliable GREEN tractor is driving!  Anyway, it was a great day and congrats again to Mindy and Jake!

Check out the boys new wagon!

So in the world of mothering multiples you become obsessed, I mean OBSESSED with trying to find wheels to transport your children.  It is what gives you the freedom to take your kids somewhere without help!  It has been an issue in this house since the day we found out we were having triplets and has been the topic of so many conversations in my MOMMES group.  So now a single stroller, a double stroller and two triple strollers later we have finally obtained the long awaited for Choo Choo Wagon.  The company stopped making them for a while so they have been hard to find until they finally released the new product last week.  I was first on the list to order it and it arrived today!  The boys love it!  Of course it won't be able to replace our Runabout stroller, but for certain activities and for just playing outside the wagon is awesome.  I was like a little kid at Christmas when it came and it's not even for me!

Yesterday was Levi's day out.  It was posponed from last week due to getting shots and not feeling so well.  I decided that after running errands we would take Papa Weber lunch so Levi could see all the tractors.  He had a blast.  He and Papa sat in a tractor, Papa then took us through his job site in his work truck that Levi got to drive and then Levi even got to run a tractor with Great Uncle Alan!  It was a great day!

Last Friday was such a beautiful day that we decided to take the boys for a boat ride before heading to a birthday party.  Maybe it was the beautiful weather making us crazy, but we took them on the boat with no help!  It went very well though.  Dale held one child and I held the other two.  We stopped to float and have a snack while all the boys checked out the river.  It was a very nice evening!
